MEME / LITERALLY ALWAYS ACCEPTING HAMILTON STARTERS.
‘ wh - what ….. juvia doesn’t understand …. ? ‘
beaten hands clasp onto her wet dress, the recent fight still taking a toll on her body. how could the enemy …. or what she had been brainwashed to perceive as the enemy, be thisnice? what did she do to deserve the kindness she was receiving? why did he not run from her, or turn her into the officials? everyone always ran from gloom, yet he stood tall and unafraid of her.
this wasn’t what she was programmed to understand.
wet falls from her eyes, dainty fingers quickly wiping away the substance. why did she cry now? crying was only for those who were too weak to carry on. how did he so easily break down her walls? his words rang through her mind, causing her body to react in a way it never had. her heart clenched, but she wasn’t sad. at least, she didn’t believe so. nothing hurt internally …. she actually felt quite warm. and yet she still trembled? this wasn’t making sense.
yet she had never been given such kindness before. even if the man didn’t think too much about his words, they would swim through her mind for days, and drown out any other thoughts. it was worth it to meet her, he said. no one ever felt that way about her before. no one was ever happy to meet the rain woman.
but he was.
was this what his other guild members were like? filled with kindness and compassion? instead of tearing her down and leaving her to die, he stayed and kept her company. suddenly thoughts of all the cruel words of jose flood her mind, and the coldness of her guild. was this even truly a guild? what had she let herself believe for so long?
‘ y - you must be mistaken …. no one is happy to meet juvia … ‘
but he seemed genuine, from the way his body relaxed as clouds parted in the sky, to the smile that graced his lips when he turned to stare down at her. everything felt real, and despite the likely chances she was being fooled again, she fell for it. she believed there was someone who wanted to meet the gloom, and get to know it.
could he accept her for everything she was? for everything she had done? he was dipping his foot into polluted waters, and she hoped he was strong enough to last in them. she hoped he wouldn’t run away from them.
she hoped he could make her waters clear again.
